During its GDC event today, Microsoft announced that it has partnered with game studio Motiga to bring Gigantic, a new take on the MOBA genre, to Xbox One and Windows 10 later this year as a launch title for the OS.
Rather than pushing to destroy an enemy team's base like other games in the MOBA genre, Gigantic tasks a team of 5 players with fighting alongside their guardian monster in a push to take out the other team's guardian. Additionally, the look and feel of Gigantic is charming, as the game features a unique, somewhat cartoon-ish art style. Finally, the game will be optimized for both a keyboard and mouse setup, as well as controllers, further pushing the cross-device vision that Microsoft is has for games on Windows 10 and Xbox.
Of course, there are many more games that will be coming to Windows 10 as well, Microsoft also announced that 17 ID@Xbox games will be coming to the platform. Additionally, the company also announced cross-buy support which allows gamers to purchase a game once and play it across all of his or her Windows 10 devices.
