Warner Bros. Interactive will now release Batman: Arkham Knight, the latest game in the open-world comic book action game series, on June 23 for the Xbox One and other platforms. The game was first announced as coming out on October 14, 2014 but was later delayed until June 2.
This delay, while a minor one, still shows that the game's developer, Rocksteady, needs a little more time to finish the title. Batman: Arkham Knight will be the last game in the Arkham series for the team, as the Caped Crusader battles a host of enemies. The game will also be the first in the series to be sold with an "M" rating, due to, among other things, some torture scenes on a "bloody operating table"
Meanwhile, IGN Italia is reporting, via unnamed sources, that Warner Bros. Interactive plans to release new versions of the first two games in the series, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, for current generation consoles like the Xbox One. Both games were first released for the Xbox 360. IGN Italia claims that the new Xbox One versions will go on sale during the Christmas 2015 time period. So far, there's been no comment from Warner Bros. or Rocksteady on these rumors.
