Ubisoft will launch yet another major game in its Assassin's Creed action series on October 23. That's the date for the release of Assassin's Creed: Syndicate for the Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4, which will be set in Victorian-era London in 1868.

The game, developed by Ubisoft's Quebec studio, will be a single-player only game. It will feature two playable characters, twins Jacob and Evie Fry, but at the moment Ubisoft is concentrating its preview efforts to feature just one of them:

"In Assassin's Creed Syndicate you'll play as Jacob Frye, an assassin born and bred poised to take over the criminal underworld of London during the Industrial Revolution. Amidst blossoming conflicts between newly crowned kings of industry and the working class they exploit for all they're worth, Jacob will work in the shadows as he climbs to the top of the criminal underground as the head of one of the city's most notorious street gangs."

IGN reports that famous Victorians such as Charles Dickens and Charles Darwin will appear in the game. It's version of London will be 30% bigger than the Paris setting in 2014's Assassin's Creed: Unity. Players will see more hand-to-hand combat in Assassin's Creed: Syndicate and they will have access to period vehicles like boats, trains and even horse-drawn carriages.
