During Microsoft's E3 2015 press event, the company finally confirmed Gears of War Ultimate Edition, the previously rumored remastered version of the first game in the shooter series for the Xbox One.
The game will be released on August 25, but Microsoft will launch a free public multiplayer beta for the game later today. The beta will last for a week. No other details on the beta have been announced.
Update: The official Gears of War website is now taking signups for the multiplayer beta. which should be live right now. It does require an Xbox Live Gold membership in good standing, along with 10GB of available hard drive space.
