Just seven days remain until Microsoft begins the rollout process to upgrade Windows 7 and 8.1 PCs to Windows 10 on July 29. The company is continuing its '10 Reasons to Upgrade" promotion with a look at the gaming features in the OS.

There's actually nothing new in this post that we have not reported on before, but just in case you need a refresher on what Windows 10 might mean to PC gamers, it's a nice summary of its features. Windows 10 will include a new Xbox app that will allow Xbox One owners to stream games from that console to be played on a PC, along with any Xbox 360 games that are backwards compatible with the Xbox One.. The app also has the game DVR feature so players can record their epic moves and share them with friends and family.

Windows 10 will also include support for Microsoft's next graphics API, DirectX 12, which promises to offer better visuals for games that take advantage of its features. Finally, some Xbox One games will feature cross-platform multiplayer with their Windows 10 counterparts.
