Gamescom is just over a week away and besides the Xbox press conference on August 4, EA will be hosting another of the big events of the show. August 5 is the magic day and the good news for everyone not in Cologne is that it'll be streamed live, online. August 5 is the first official day of Gamescom, but it's open only to press and industry attendees, before the public are let in on August 6.
Any big EA news relating to Xbox we'll potentially hear about during Microsoft's presentation the day before, but that doesn't make it any less worth watching. It's likely one of the bigger pieces we'll see is a new DLC for Battlefield: Hardline, while E3 unveiled many of EAs forthcoming big hitters such as Mirrors Edge: Catalyst. We could also see yet more on the hotly anticipated Star Wars: Battlefront, and perhaps even the arrival of Dragon Age: Inquisition into the EA Access vault.
The event will be broadcast on livetoplay.ea.com and we'll be back with reminders and times closer to the event. Windows Central will be live from Cologne for Gamescom, starting with the Xbox press event on August 4.
