Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is due to be released for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on September 1. Now, publisher Konami has released the final launch trailer for the action game, which will likely be the last directed by Metal Gear's creator Hideo Kojima.
Kojima also edited the over five-minute launch trailer for The Phantom Pain, and much of it shows footage from all of the previous Metal Gear games he was involved in directing. Of course, there's lots of footage from the new game which looks spectacular.
While Konami may make future Metal Gear games, it will be without Kojima at the helm, so this trailer is both a promo for The Phantom Pain as well as a farewell to Kojima's involvement in the series. Xbox One gamers with Xbox Live Gold can still download the prequel, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, for free until August 31.
