Gigantic was one of the first games announced that would support cross-platform multiplayer across both the Xbox One console and Windows 10 PCs. On Friday, August 28, the closed beta test for the upcoming free-to-play third-person team shooter will go live for both platforms.
Sign-ups for the closed beta are still being taking at the official Gigantic website. The game's developer Motiga says that they will be rolling out lots of invites to the beta over the next several weeks, and that hundreds of thousands of people will get a chance to play the game, so if you sign up now, the chances of you getting in the beta are very good.
Gigantic itself features matches with two teams of five players each, and each team has a boss monster, called a "Guardian", that also fights alongside the players. You can check out our recent hands-on impressions of the game in our Gamescom 2015 coverage.
If you have an Xbox One you are all set if you get an invite, but if you have a PC, you have to have the 64-bit version of Windows 10 installed, along with a graphics card that supports DirectX 11, to play in the Gigantic closed beta.
