Project Knoxville

A few weeks ago, Microsoft's Press Play studio asked the general public to check out three concepts for upcoming games, and pick their favorite. Now, the votes have been counted and the winner is "Project Knoxville", so the third-person multiplayer action game will now be the next title from Press Play.

The game will be released for the Xbox One, and possibly Windows 10. It will also get a new name at some point as "Project Knoxville" is just a placeholder. Here's a quick description:

"Project Knoxville is a 3rd person multiplayer action-survival game in which players MUST work both together and against each other. It is framed in a sadistic game show, similar to the ones in 'The Hunger Games' and 'The Running Man', but here all of the contestants can survive if they work together and don't let greed or personal gain get the best of them. With this game, we aim to go further than anyone else when it comes to dynamic relationships and spectator interaction."

There's a lot more information on the game at the Press Play site. The studio plans to continue giving the general public a chance to influence "Project Knoxville" as the team develops the game. That will include a bi-weekly Twitch stream with the team starting on September 17.
