Microsoft has already announced that the upcoming Xbox One Elite Controller would be released sometime in October. Now, a number of online retailers, including the Microsoft Store, have narrowed down the release date to October 27. That happens to also be the same day Microsoft plans to release the highly anticipated Xbox One shooter Halo 5: Guardians.
That release date certainly cannot be a coincidence, if it turns out to be accurate. Microsoft and Halo 5's developer 343 Industries want the game to be a huge hit for the eSports market, and launching the game alongside a controller designed for pro gamers would show their support for this growing trend in the industry.
The Xbox One Elite Controller will have, among other things, interchangeable rear paddles and hair trigger locks. Owners will also be able to save custom controller profiles on an app.
