One of the most acclaimed PC indie games of recent years, Gone Home, is finally coming to consoles, including the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Developer The Fullbright Company has announced those versions will be released on January 12, 2016.

Gone Home is a first-person adventure game that has the player controlling a female college student who comes home to visit her family, but arrives to an empty house. The player must explore the inside to figure out the mystery. Gone Home was released in 2013 for the PC, but a planned console launch by Majesco's Midnight City division was later put on hold in 2014. However, today's announcement says that Gone Home will still be released for consoles by Midnight City

The console version was developed using the Unity 5 graphics engine, compared to the older Unity 4 engine for the PC version. It will also include 90 minutes of director's commentary. The Fullbright Company is already working on its next game, Tacoma, which might be described as "Gone Home but in space". It's scheduled for a 2016 release on PC and Xbox One.
