Red Dead Redemption bringing the Wild West to Xbox One with backwards compatibility

Ever since Microsoft announced backwards compatibility support to play Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One, there have been a few titles folks kept shouting for. Red Dead Redemption is one of those, and now, it looks like it's happening.

Support for the game seems to have leaked out and some have been able to successfully get Rockstar's Wild West extravaganza installed on their consoles.

We should point out that nothing official has been released at this time by either Microsoft or Rockstar. At the time of writing getting the game to install seems to require something of a workaround, which the guys over at ICXM have detailed. Part of it seems to be that you're only able to do it right now if you bought a digital copy of the game.

Red Dead Redemption came into our lives in 2010. While far removed from the stylings of Rockstar's signature franchise, Grand Theft Auto, there were similarities in its open world approach and sold around 14 million copies. To date it has been a top three request on the list of desired backwards compatible titles. While some will have to wait a little while longer, it looks like there's going to be a lot of happy cowboys hitting the trails very soon.
