It's not exactly a surprise, but Microsoft has confirmed that it will indeed be holding its annual Xbox press event during the E3 2016 gaming trade show in Los Angeles. The press conference will be held on Monday, June 13 starting at 9:30 a.m. Pacific time (12:30 p.m. Eastern time).
GameSpot reports that emails were sent to media outlets with the date and time, but no other information was provided. Microsoft will likely use the E3 2016 media event to reveal a number of unannounced or upcoming Xbox One and Windows 10 games. It will also provide more information on the Xbox One's upcoming software upgrade as part of Microsoft's Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which is scheduled to be released sometime later this summer.
E3 2016 will be a bit smaller this year, as a few major publishers, such as Activision, Disney Interactive and Wargaming.net have all confirmed they won't have stand alone exhibits on the trade show's floor at the LA Convention Center. Electronic Arts has also bypassed the E3 2016 exhibit show floor, but will still be holding its own press event that week and will show demos of its upcoming games at the nearby Club Nokia venue at LA Live.
