On Tuesday, Electronic Arts reported its earnings for the fourth quarter of 2016, with strong results overall. From the earnings report, it was highlighted that Star Wars Battlefront, is "a successful new franchise" which "sold in more than 14 million units in fiscal year 2016."
In response to this success, Electronic Arts' CFO Blake Jorgensen confirmed that a sequel to Star Wars Battlefront is in the works, featuring "bigger and better worlds" which take advantage of "the new movies" and "not just the historical movies" used before. Jorgensen followed up by confirming that the second instalment in the new Battlefront franchise will be arriving sometime next year.
Last week, EA announced that the developers behind Titanfall 2, Respawn Entertainment, are simultaneously working on a third-person Star Wars action game. As of right now, we know Respawn Entertainment, Visceral Games, DICE, Capital Games, BioWare, Motive and more studios are all working on Star Wars-related projects for EA.
