Microsoft's Xbox One user experience team leader departs to join Hulu

Richard Irving, who worked at Microsoft for 18 years and who lead the team in charge of the Xbox One user experience, has departed the company to become the VP of product management at Hulu.

Variety reports that Irving has already begun working at Hulu in its Seattle offices:

Before joining Hulu, Irving was partner group program manager for Xbox One at Microsoft in Seattle, where he oversaw the Xbox One user experience, including the the Xbox app for Windows 10, iOS and Android, and Live Avatars. Prior to that, he held several other leadership roles at Microsoft, overseeing programs including Kinect for Xbox 360 and live TV for Xbox One, having joined the company in 1998. Irving is also a named inventor on six patents, spanning his work on Xbox, speech recognition and e-commerce.

The report adds that Irving will be in charge of Hulu's long-term product strategy, which includes plans to launch an live broadcast and cable TV package sometime in 2017.
