Microsoft stated that revenues from its gaming divisions, including Xbox were down by 9% in its fiscal year 2016 fourth quarter. However, Xbox Live monthly active users went up by 33% to 49 million.
Microsoft's numbers did not offer any specifics on revenue numbers, nor on how many Xbox consoles were sold during the quarter. It did say the lower revenue percentage was due to "lower Xbox console volume and lower console pricing". It also stated that it saw a 13% increase in hours spent on gaming on the Xbox One, along with a 19% increase in gaming hours on Windows 10 PCs.
