Watch and win as we play colorful platformer Hue tonight on Twitch

Every weekend, Windows Central streams an Xbox One or Steam game on Twitch for 1-2 hours and gives out free games to the cool people who join us during the stream. It's like a live podcast, only you also get to watch a game while chatting with our awesome readers and viewers!

Tonight we played Hue, a platformer from Curve Digital in which players change the color of the world around them to solve puzzles and reach new areas. Hue features totally unique puzzle mechanics, fantastic narration, and a beautiful score. Read on for quick impressions, contest winners, and our hands-on video.

Hue

Hue for Xbox One

Hue is an artistic and thoughtful platformer developed by Fiddlesticks (headed by the creator of classic Windows Phone game Mush) and published by Curve Digital. In this imaginative tale, a scientist has caused the world to become dark and gray. A young boy named Hue must restore color to the world and rescue his friend who has turned invisible.

Hue looks like a black-and-white platformer at first brush. But as our hero discovers new colors hidden throughout the world, he can change the color of the world itself. Changing colors can remove obstacles, reveal new paths, and much more. The world itself is vast and interconnected, with lots of areas to explore. And a colorblind mode ensures that anyone who can see can play.

As he explores the world, Hue will also encounter a unique cast of characters who respond to the changing colors. Fully voiced narration (in the vein of Thomas was Alone) brings the story to life. It's quite a lovely game.

Hue comes to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on Tuesday, August 30th, and PlayStation Vita in September. It will cost $14.99. Watch us play and Hue might just catch your eye and warm your soul!

How to watch Twitch livestreams

Hue for Xbox One

What's the best way to experience Twitch? The Twitch website on your PC or Mac web browser. If you don't have or prefer not to use a computer, you can get the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Xbox 360 Twitch apps and watch from the comfort of your couch. Android and iOS both have official and unofficial Twitch apps to choose from as well.

On Windows Phone, you'll have to grab an unofficial app. There are several to choose from, each with different strengths and weaknesses. Only one app lets you search directly for our channel, though. If you use the others, you'll have to find and follow us from a web browser first. Read the roundup to learn more!
