Developer id Software and publisher Bethesda Softworks have released the latest free update to their DOOM reboot for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The update finally adds the old school Deathmatch multiplayer mode to the game.
Bethesda says Deathmatch in the new DOOM is exactly what it sounds like; no help from teammates and no Demon Runes in matches. It's just you, your guns and your skills against everyone else. In addition, the free update adds support for Private Matches:
Players are now able to create their own private matches in multiplayer. When setting up your matches, you can determine the modes, maps, length of play time and other match settings.
You can check out the full change log from the free DOOM update, which also includes fixes for the campaign and for SnapMap, at Bethesda.net. Also, there will be a Double XP weekend for the game starting Friday, September 23, at 12 p.m. Eastern time until Monday, September 26, at 12 p.m. Eastern time.
