Microsoft has been adding a number of new features every month with its firmware updates to the Xbox One, but December's update won't be a huge one, according to Xbox head man Phil Spencer. The promised screenshot feature also won't be out until sometime in 2015.
In a chat with IGN's Podcast Unlocked, Spencer stated the reasons for why the Xbox One December update may not be a big one, saying, "In December, it's probably a time for us to pause for a little bit and settle just as all the new consoles are coming online." As far as adding the ability to take screenshots of games while they are on the console, Spencer indicated that the feature is actually harder to add than it sounds like. He said:
"We can do video, how hard can it be to just grab a frame of the video? It's a little more technically challenging than I thought. Two weeks ago, they think they've found a good solution for screenshots. They're working on it. They know people want it. The team has a path to getting it done, and now it's just prioritizing."
How much do you want Microsoft to add a way to take screenshots in the Xbox One?
