Fans of the acclaimed, but extremely challenging, fantasy RPG Dark Souls II will be happy to learn that the game is coming to the Xbox One for the first time in 2015, with some revamped graphics and new content. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin will be released for the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC, among other platforms, on April 7.
All of the versions of the game from developer From Software and publisher Namco Bandai will get the content of the original Dark Souls II plus its three DLC pack (Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King). In addition, they will get the following extra features:
- Additional NPCs added for an enhanced story experience.
- Parameter adjustments for improved game balance.
- Augmented item descriptions.
- Improved online matchmaking functionality.
If you bought the original Dark Souls II for the Xbox 360 and PC you will get those features as a free patch to the game. The Xbox One version of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, along with the DirectX 11 PC version, will gain even more improvements to its graphics, sound, and performance, along with a jump to six players allowed in an online single session.
